Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) is an innovative body-conditioning and strengthening program that has been designed to enhance students' technique by focusing on training muscle memory. It is a unique training system using ballet-technique specific exercises to train skill acquisition used by teachers around the world.
PBT is not only a program to improve technique in ballet dancers, it has been appreciated and incorporated in training by all forms of dancers, athletes, physiotherapists and even footballers!
At Just Imagine we use PBT as part of our pre-pointe programme, to help dancers strengthen their bodies and feet ready for the rigours of pointework.

Saturdays
The Pointe Preparation class is designed to gently introduce pointe work to children who have successfully completed our pre-pointe programme assessment. This class provides a carefully planned and supportive transition towards pointe, focusing on developing the necessary strength, alignment, and technical awareness. Through a structured and tailored approach, each dancer is guided at their own pace, ensuring they progress safely and confidently while meeting their individual physical and technical needs.

We follow the Alixa Flexibility method to help achieve maximum mobility and flexibility.

This class is open to all dancers over the age of 10, and is actively recommended for those attending 2 or more dance classes a week to supplement all forms of dance and acrobatic training.
The Alixa Flexibility program focuses on:
• Step by step progressions • Strength to control flexibility
• Correct alignment to help protect against injuries
• Good body awareness & mobility
• Improving students who struggle to progress
• Balancing & protecting hyper-mobility
The emphasis is on student safety and is carefully developed for long term health.
The Alixa Flexibility syllabus has been carefully developed over 22 years with research consultation from experts in physiotherapy, sports medicine, massage therapy, rehabilitation, kinesiology and neurology.
